Our brewery has worked with Sugarpine Drive-In to create Shandy River, a Yuzu Shandy that captures summer’s rays by skillfully blending a crisp rice lager base with our yuzu lemon soda—a lively refresher bound for river, trail, and backyard adventures.
Shandy River is a tribute to Oregon’s summer river culture. With Sugarpine adjacent to the glacier-fed Sandy River in Troutdale, and Block 15 to Marys and the Willamette Rivers in Corvallis, we wanted to produce something light to carry along during the hot days of summer.
As part of our partnership with Sugarpine, our Executive Chefs have collaborated on a special sandwich, the Izakaya Steak Sandwich, which utilizes Sugarpine's Northwest Wonder Rub and an array of Pacific Northwest ingredients. This ornate offering is intended to pair perfectly with Shandy River.

Izakaya Steak Sandwich @ Block 15
Cold-smoked Northwest bavette steak, coated in Sugarpine Drive-In’s Northwest Wonder Rub and glazed with okonomi sauce, served chilled with caramelized miso-sesame aioli, grilled zucchini and green pepper–kale salad tossed in yuzu vinaigrette, and a red miso smashed cucumber & corn succotash. Served on a Bread Stop Bakery brioche bun.
Shandy River will make its debut with the sandwich at Sugarpine on Thursday, June 26th, and Friday, June 27th, at both Block 15 locations. Each sandwich will differ slightly due to regional availability of ingredients, and is available while supplies last.
